Wavelength
The Undergraduate Journal of Psychology at UTM
Wavelength is PAUSE’s inaugural peer-reviewed undergraduate journal showcasing research, ideas, and creative inquiry from UTM Psychology & Brain Sciences and beyond. We aim to bridge sciences and the humanities by pairing written work with artistic and scientific visuals—from data-informed graphics to conceptual illustrations. Visual pieces may complement a specific article or stand as independent works that deepen a theme.

Our Story
"We want to make psychology and neuroscience more accessible and fun for undergraduate students, who may often feel excluded from higher academic spaces."

I’m super excited to be a part of PAUSE this year and to share my experiences as a writer, editor, and brain/mind enthusiast to benefit the UTM community. I’m particularly looking forward to building and publishing a scientific journal that showcases our community’s passion for science in a creative and unique way.

As someone who is passionate about the science behind decision-making and social behaviour, particularly with regards to human rights, I find PAUSE to be a space where those of us with aligned interests can connect and learn from each other. Through mutual values and aspirations, I believe that we can achieve so much and grow together while educating others about the real-world implications of psychology.

I’m a second-year student at the University of Toronto, fascinated by how the brain influences behavior, emotion, and decision-making. I’m especially interested in where neuroscience and law meet, and how understanding the mind can shape a more compassionate society. In my free time, I love playing piano, flute, and clarinet, reading, doing pottery, and spending time with friends. I’m excited to be part of a journal that brings together diverse voices in psychology and encourages curiosity, reflection, and collaboration.
